Recently, I met up with Kian Ann again in MasteryAsia Business Forum (23rd May 2007). He was invited as the speaker for the seminar topic “Blog Marketing for Beginners” in Wisma Equity, KL.
Kian Ann is my old friend who met in Money Mastery Bootcamp in May 2004. He is a blog marketing trainer based in Singapore and he is passionate in helping individuals and small businesses reach out to the world using blog marketing.
During the 2 hours seminar, Kian Ann shared his thought on how does small & medium business even the corporate business owners can be benefited from blog marketing.

I managed to pick up some good points from his presentation, and I thought I can share a little bit with you here. He highlighted the important of using blog as a powerful tool to promote your business online even thought you have very little or not budget on advertising campaign.
This is what he shared during the seminar:
Blog marketing is NOT about:
- making $10 off each of your 100 blogs
- creating your blog today and the money will pour in tomorrow.
- making money online.
Blog Marketing is about:
- Search Engine Marketing
- Building a brand
- Establishing yourself as an expert, being a thought leader in your industry
- Generating Targeted leads
- Getting customer feedback and building relationships
He revealed that what is the “good writing” blog style we should adopt. It should be content rich blog articles and in conversation style. Just as like you are doing one to one conversation to your visitors.
We shouldn’t pitching on products too often. Visitors tend to feel we are trying to sell them products all the time and will not come back again.
Kian Ann told that even owner, president and chairman of Fortune 500 Companies like General Motors, Boeing, Marriot International have started on blog marketing. Today, it is no longer just internet marketers, bloggers or adsense earners who want to make money by blogging. Big corporations are in the game now!
What about us?
Do we see the potential of blog marketing (web2.0 marketing) that can bring impact to our business?
