It was a nice birhtday for me this year. Unlike most of the years, I chose to celebrate my 33rd birthday this year with my love one only … The last time I really celebrate my birthday was my 21st birthday. Oh yes, in conjunction of my birthday celebration, my wife also took a day off.
I woke up at 8.30am (normally 7.30am because I need to send my wife to work daily). Do a normal prayer with my wife and we had light breakfast.

About 10.45am, we left home and went to Galaxy (it is very near my house, just 3 minutes drive) for karaoke session. We were told this karaoke package is RM9.90 per pax including lunch. That’s was a good deal. Not many people there since it was tuesday morning.
We finished karaoke session about 2.30pm. Then, we went to Sunway Pyramid to watch “The Banquet”.

At first we thought this was a good movie then. In fact, if you watch the trailer before the actual movie, it seems like work watching. Well, after 2-and-half hour, we walked off from the cinema, both of us complainted don’t know what was this movie all about. At the end of the movie, almost every main character including Zhang Zi Yi also died. Really ….. I personally don’t like to watch sad ending movie…

Later, we went for Japanese food restuarant for dinner (it’s our favorite food and we haven’t eat for quite sometimes) at Sri Hartamas. I chose this restuarant is because I have been there once and I knew the food quality is good eventhough it is a bit pricy.
The last itinerary of the day, we went to hand out in bar flam. Again, go back to Sunway Pyramid. That’s was a really creazy things we ever do…

One of the way to get to know each others is to meet up especially people in the same industry with you. It is also not a exception in internet marketing.

Most of the time, people think of working in internet marketing could be very lonely as we don’t go out to meet our customers and subscribers. Which only part of the internet marketing business. We are not just communicate with people online via email and blog most of the time but also meet up with other internet marketers and bloggers.

Last week, I have the opportunity again to meet up with other young internet marketers in Mid Valley. Six of them turn up in the meeting and they are (from right) Gobala Krishnan, Syazwan, Hafiz, Sabri, Colbert Low and myself.

You can discover their similarity is they are young (me too, all below age of 35 ) and come from multi-racials. Who say there is not happening in this industry in Malaysia?? They all are experts in different fields and building the name quietly behind the scene.

While most of the people still shopping in the Mid Valley, we have our disucssion on various topic on internet marketing and exchanged experinces. I hope meeting like this will continue and we can meet up more often as this will help to encourage each other in business. It is always good to meet up with other internet marketers.

31st Aug is Malaysia mederka day (independence day). I have a totally different of experience in celebrating the mederka. Early morning I went out with my wife to central market buy roses for her colleague registration. We had our breakfast there. Later we proceed to the bridegroom house and send them the flower.

I like to drive on the road in Klang Valley during the long holiday as there are no many cars on the road, most of them are back to their hometown. I spend about 25 minutes to drive from Subang Jaya to KL. On the way back to home after sending the roses, I told my wife that we can reach home in 30 minutes driving from Kepong via LDP expressway. Usually it would take 45-60 minutes to reach home on normal day.

Last week, I have another heart attack (not really a physical heart attack) from my PC. I remember that was Sunday night after I finished the phone chat with Gobala. While I was sending out an email to him, the PC halted and did not responding. I though it was normal system halt and I would normally press the switch on/off button to restart (My PC always give me problem of restarting without giving any notice, I don’t know why).

However, this time a bit abnormal which my Windows start with scan disk and later restart the PC again, this time, it doesn’t show the normal login page, the screen show totally black out. I restart few times, also the can’t help to improve the situation.

I sent in my PC to the IT shop the next day itself. Luckily I bought a new external HDD in PC Fair last month and manage to backup my data files before the incident. I am using a Western Digital 80GB notebook HDD with external enclosure.

However, I didn’t backup my second HDD since it is purely a data HDD and it works fine prior to the disaster. My PC technician called me and told me that my second HDD seems can’t access. He explained to me my HDD is old enough (which is about 2-3 years) and it’s about time up and the data has erased. Well, I have once experience before early this year, I didn’t mention anything much and I told him I will fix the problem myself. Without his knowledge that I learnt the secret of recover the data early last year and it works for recovering lost data even after the HDD is re-formatted.

I learnt from this experience is never “assume” that the lifespan of HDD is long, always backup your data info CD/DVD format as you will never know when your HDD is down because of aging. You might considering to buy HDD with 10 years warranty. Pricing wise will cost you a little more but it is better to always backup into physical CD/DVD.

The CD/DVD burner is so low price nowadays, get one to back up your important data before the disaster happen. I bought Samsung DVD burner for RM150 (US 41) only and it comes with 18X DVD burning, support double later burning. It also can burn normal CD at 48X. Last month I decided to move on the new host for my Internet Online blog. The reason I want to move is my previous host doesn’t support some features that need for blogging although I am quite happy with the service and I really satisfy with their good and reliable hosting service.

At first, I moved to GeekHosting and I though I have choosen the good host. However, few days later, I do my regular login to my host and try to update the post. I was shocked to discover that my new host has hacked by some Turkish hackers. My friend Gobala also surprised to hear that and post about this problem. He has also highlight of important to backup your blog and show you the process to backup the blog.

Imagine you just change a new host for 3 days and this happened to you. Of course you will get frustrated and look like the new host doesn’t sound like a good impression to you. Immediate I wrote to them and ask for refund and close my account. They are indeed professional people and refund the hosting fee without asking much questions.

Without any much hesitation, I move on to get a new host which is my preferred host now. Within 2 days I am able to get it up and running. Later on, I spend few days as well to install my blog in between rushing for the project. Wordpress is an unique content management system, and there is a difference between blog and html site. Migrating your blog will be challenging work for you if you don’t know how to do it. Since this is my first one, I have no choice but go to search from the Wordpress Forum about the migration.

The lesson I learnt from here is, always choose the right host and do it right at the first time in order to avoid the headache part later on.
