3 Simple Steps Process to find a niche market and start selling

A lot of internet marketers talk about niche market products and it seems becoming a popular topics nowadays. Let me start with explaining what is actually niche market products all about?

A niche market product defines as a group of people who are searching the internet for a solution. They are looking for answer for their targeted and specific problem. A niche market isn?t a large demographic group of people.

Step 1: Start with your passions
Ask yourself what are your interest, hobbies? Once you identify the area, write out a series of problem statements that you think off. Don?t just write few but write as many statements as you can. Someone who might have same problem will try to find out the answer from search engine.

If you can?t write any problems, you can always search in the forum and discussion group. Google, Yahoo and MSN do have many free discussion groups for people to join and express their opinion. In here, you will find a lot of questions and answered being posted here. Start collecting all these information as much as you can.

Once you have a comprehensive list of problem statement, you need to find out 2 things:

- Demand

- supply

 

Search for the key words you think people interested in a topic might look for. A free online tool you can use is Yahoo Marketing or you can use a download version:Good Key Words.

Step 2: Test the idea to see if it will be profitable
Register a good domain name, you can do this at GoDaddy. Always try to register a ?.com? domain name if possible. You can get it less than US$10 and pay by Credit Card or PayPal.

Get a web-hosting package. GoDaddy also provides this and the package is as low as US$5 per month. Just pay for one month initially.

Put up a survey form and form to gather the input from visitors. A simple survey form can be look like this. You need a software that able to conduct survey and collect data. I recommend you to use AskDataBase. The great tool can help you do analyse the keywords density of the most frequent search keywords.

Next, setup a Google ad campaign. If you haven?t got an Adwords account, click here to register one. Google Adwords is a Pay-Per-Click advertising, you only pay for the number of clicks on your ads.

Run your ad for 3-5 days and see the result. They will have people answer your survey questions, gather all the questions and select the 10-15 most frequent asked questions. Don?t forget to pause the ad campaign, otherwise your ad will kept running and send visitors to your survey page and you need to pay all these cost. Now, go back to the forum and ask all these FAQs, if you are not able to provide the answer. Visit the forum few days later to cultivate all the answers from there. Most of the forums have the setting allow you to receive reply in email so that you are kept informed on your postings.

Step 3: Develop the product / ebook
You can either develop yourself or engage someone to do it for you. They are many freelancers ready to help you to write your book. Go to RentACoder.com, elance.com or ScriptLance.com to find the developers.

You can get books written for less than this $500 or more, depends on the developer asking price. You got to check with few of them before decide one to take your job to develop.

The other method of develop products is by interviewing the expert in that topic. You can do it either face to face or over the phone interview. Right now you might want to consider to do it over the internet by using text or voice chat. A good software that allow you to do both function is Skype. You can register a free account here if you haven?t got one. Make sure the interviewees also installed the software. Record it during the interview session, and then transcribed it to texts. You can either use RentACoder service or get software that can directly onto your hard disk. The next step is to edit it and turn it into a pdf file. Once you have done that, you have an instant product to sell.
