There are many friends of mine came to ask me whether they should get an auto responder. I think there are 2 reasons why you need an auto responder:

1) You need to build your list of customers and prospects so that you can send out constant emails to keep in touch with them. Not only just selling your new products, but also building relationship with them, informing them your update on works, activities as well as personal news sometimes. It is not compulsory to tell all of your news but you can selectively tell what you want to tell.

2) Product survey: once in a while you may want to conduct survey to your customers and ask what do they want and think about the respective product / info. We can?t really know what they want until you ask them. By doing so, you will get to know better about your customer and develop or search for the relevant products and sell to them.

My first auto responder was GetResponse. However, I don?t like to use it as it has too much advertisement in my email. They sent me promotional emails constantly. I believe my customers do receive it as well (after I stop using their service).

Later on, I changed to Marketer Choice. What excited me was Marketer Choice has all-in-one service for online marketer solution. They are more and more people get interest to do internet marketing business. Seminars and courses have been organising around the city and arouse the interest of people to start one. However, people get the frustrated when they want to start to do internet marketing business; it is because they always faced the following 3 common problems:

1) You cannot register as an affiliate for Clickbank, Commission Junction or other affiliate programs.
2) You cannot withdraw money from Paypal account to your local bank accounts.
3) You cannot start without a Credit Card and cannot get one.

This is a serious disadvantage for most of the South East Asia people (except Singaporeans), considering ClickBank is the number one in digital products such as e-books and software, and PayPal is the most widely used payment processor online. On the recent check they don’t accept our registrations, but even if they do it’s a risky option. The only reason I can think of (which was confirmed) is that they have removed out countries name (except Singapore) from the list of acceptable countries.
